The Kuboraum team create their pieces based on the idea of a mask that frames the face, a comfortable “cubic room.” The Kurboraum team also emphasizes the idea of using their eyewear pieces not only to accentuate the face but also to free up one’s identity and personality. Over the years, the Kuboraum brand has introduced several series of iconic optical products. In fact, several social influencers have been seen wearing a pair.
Lady Gaga has been spotted wearing a Kuboraum sunglasses with cat-eye frames. Ageless Austrian model Ernestine “Erni” Stollberg was also seen sporting the iconic brand. Launched in 2017, the H-Series has distinct hand-hammered double metal frames and porcelain nose pads. The H-Series comes in oval and square frame options with green-tinted lenses. The K-series evoke the Mayan and Japanese Samurai mask tradition but imbued with a futuristic vibe. With its handcrafted acetate frames, the K-series comes in champagne, black matte, and black shiny frame options. The Z-series have round frames made from different materials, including hand hammered metal and acetate. There is also the whimsical Havana Flowers which recently sold out.
The Havana eyewear has gradient grey lens and an acetate frame with hand-engraved flowers. Another version, the Havana shiny chiseled eyewear, has circular frames with bronze and silver inserts. Due to the iconic exclusivity that the brand embodies, a typical Kuboraum sunglasses could cost several hundred dollars apiece. Kuboraum products are conceptualized in their Berlin studio and flagship store. Breathing life into the design are the artisans in Italy who handcraft the eyewear based on Kuboraum’s strict standards.
